GREEN GUARDIANS
Youth Exchange
28.03-04.04.2025.
Veliki Žitnik, Croatia
We’re thrilled to share the successful completion of the Erasmus+ youth exchange “Green Guardians – Growing Green Together,” held in Veliki Žitnik, Gospić, Croatia, from March 28th to April 4th, 2025. This inspiring project brought together young people from across Europe to explore sustainability, environmental protection, and our relationship with nature through intercultural exchange and hands-on learning.
Throughout the exchange, participants engaged in workshops and outdoor activities focused on sustainable living practices, waste management, and circular economies. From zero-waste strategies to mindful nutrition and nature immersion, the program empowered young people with tools to live more consciously and promote environmental responsibility in their communities.
One of the highlights of the week was the collaborative creation of sustainability-focused video projects. Working in diverse teams, participants reflected on their own environmental journeys and shared creative messages on how we can all make a difference. These activities were complemented by sessions on leadership and advocacy, encouraging participants to take initiative and inspire change at home.
The exchange also celebrated traditional knowledge and cultural heritage, exploring how old practices can guide modern sustainability efforts. Through dialogue and shared experiences, participants developed a deeper understanding of global environmental challenges—and the power of collective action to address them.
Our involvement in “Green Guardians” reaffirmed the importance of youth-led environmental activism and intercultural collaboration. We return home with renewed motivation, enriched perspectives, and a network of passionate peers dedicated to shaping a greener future.
Organized by Pozitiva Samobor and supported by the Erasmus+ program, this youth exchange has equipped us with knowledge, memories, and friendships that will continue to grow long after the project’s end.
