TRENDS AND PERSONALITIES

Our participants have successfully completed the “Trends and Personalities: Escape the Social Expectations” project, held from July 20th to July 30th, 2024, in Malki Voden, Bulgaria. They are now returning home with fresh perspectives and an overwhelming drive to challenge societal norms and promote mental health and authenticity!

During this project, participants confronted the complexities of identity, creativity, and the pressure to conform to societal standards. They asked tough questions about how society shapes us and explored the importance of staying true to oneself. Through hands-on workshops and lively discussions, they gained invaluable tools to resist the forces of conformity.

A key focus was on the influence of social media and the ‘Das Man’ mentality. Participants learned to critically assess how these platforms impact mental health and self-expression. They also explored the thin line between authentic creativity and the romanticization of mental struggles, leaving with a clearer understanding of how to promote honesty and authenticity.

Creativity was also a central theme! Participants were given the opportunity to express their true selves through art and innovation, which helped them develop their critical and innovative thinking skills. These experiences inspired them to bring new ideas and initiatives to their communities.

Beyond gaining new skills, the project was also a chance to build deep connections. Participants formed friendships with peers from diverse backgrounds, creating a network of like-minded individuals determined to make a positive impact in their communities.
